Your KIDs Can BE Fly TOO!

One thing that bugs me is seeing a Mom or Dad looking fly and their kid looking (as I would say) "dusty."  So not cool, while I know everyone doesn't make a ton of money to afford all the finer things in life. There's no excuse when your are decked out from head to toe and your children don't have a decent outfit to wear. Keeping your kids looking decent and ready for the occasion is a must, especially when you have already invested in making yourself look good. Your kids are a reflection of you.  Let's take a look at some of what Spring/Summer 2011 has in store for those beautiful gifts from GOD!

Love the SKIN You're IN!-My Voluptuous GALS!

I just thought it was a great idea to call out a designer I just recently came across that has awesome clothes for plus size women. So often I hear the plus size girl struggling with where to buy trendy pieces that compliment them. Tennille White designed some great pieces, the dresses and other items she designs are awesome. They really compliment the size of a voluptuous woman! So that fib that there's nothing out there for plus size women is now being dispelled! There are great trendy pieces in fashion to compliment any size. The key is finding what makes you look and feel great...let me help you!

Night Out with The Girls! What to Wear?

Being a wife, mom and full time career woman I look forward to the opportunity to hang out with my girls every now and then.  In preparation for that night out there always comes that big question "What am I going to wear?" This weekend we celebrated one of my sisters birthday's and I saw some very interesting things...let's do a quick make over!

Girl dressed in spandex denim skirt, cream color camisole and some gold shimmery shoes (they looked like her prom shoes but a not so good pair). I get the impression that she wanted to be cute, a little glamorous but comfortable. She was out celebrating her friends birthday...but, there was a total disconnect with the entire outfit...let's recreate!

This dress is great for an evening out with the girls! For the girl that is a little thicker and wants to be cute and comfortable this dress helps camouflage the imperfections and create balance :).  (Drape Crop top Dress $63.76)

Pair that dress with a cute sandal, because the dress is a bit simple adding a statement shoe like this one will add some spice to your outfit! (MICHALE Michael Kors $194).

Can't forget some jewelry, I just love this cute pendant...

Love this bracelet...KH Studio Bracelet $40

Have fun with the jewelry for your night out..these Betsy Johnson earrings are definitely fun to wear!

It's PROM & Wedding SEASON!

It's time for prom dress shopping and spring weddings!!! Today that's been on my brain. A friend of mine has been looking for an evening gown for a black tie event and as I was out shopping with her I saw all these dresses around for prom's and weddings. My advice stay clear away from certain stores because you just might have a double at your prom...soooo I am going to post my ideal picks for prom dresses! Now I remember when I was preparing for my prom which was some time ago, I said that ideal saying "I want something different." I hear that so often and when I see what turns out to be what others call "different," it ends up being less fabric (if you know what I mean).  Check out some suggestions:

This dress is elegant yet with the sheer bottom it has a nice trendiness to it. With the neutral and gold shimmer you can have fun with the shoes and accessories! (Aidan Mattox-Sunburst Beaded Gown $395)

Love this color for the spring, I would pair this dress with some beautiful glittery and sparkly jewelry! And the hair should be an explosion of curls! (Aidan Mattox Beaded Waist Gown $365)
I am totally inspired by this gown for proms and weddings! This is just beautiful. This Nicole Miller gown is great for the spring/summer formal events. ($760 at neiman marcus)
This dress is gorgeous for proms and weddings...It gives you the ability to have a taste of a long and short gown. Must have hot shoes with this!! ($498 BCBG (20% off) Maila Beaded Crepe Gown

BET RIP the RUNWAY-with one of my fav's Rachel Roy

What shall we expect to see on BET's RIP the Runway 2011? I will tell you what I am looking forward to and excited about Rachel Roy's collection being included in this years fashion show.  I must say she is definitely one of my favorite designers!  I absolutely love her style and designs....here are a couple sneak peek photos we will see on RIP the Runway:

Love the different color hues used in Rachel Roy's Collection.  Collectively including the brights, and metallics. Rachel Roy does a great job in creating pieces that are unique and trendy.   But she also gives the professional woman the opportunity to put a twist to her professional attire! Check it out:

This is a great trendy dress that is also good for the professional woman. Just pair with some pumps (and of course tone down the hair :) ).  You can wear a nude color panty hose, this dress can be worn to dinner as well. (Rachel Rachel Roy Rouge Combo 24-Hour Dress $59.40).
To keep it on the professional side at work, pair these pumps with the above dress. If wearing the above dress out to dinner pair with a cute sandal...(Rachel Rachel Roy-Carmelle nude patent leather pump $99)

You can feel confident wearing a dress like this in the office as well.  It's a nice gold embellished dress that can be worn for a night out or in the office.  (Rachel Rachel Roy Embellished Dress $89.40). In the office pair this dress with a simple pump...have fun with the pumps below!

Love the detailing on this pump...

Comfortably Me...

This is a subject I have been wanting to approach for quite some time.  I like to observe people around me as I'm shopping or just out and about.  Last night while out having dinner with my husband and mini me I saw a woman walk by (just like I see many do all the time) with spandex pants and a tight tee.  This woman was full figured and looked like she was just out running some errands.  Now, I figured she was looking to be comfortable and cute but the problem is too many people are wearing things that don't compliment their shape.  Let me help you...you can be fly at any size! Be comfortable and cute but take a different approach...let me show you!

Here's the story, it's a nice spring day and you have so much to get accomplished.  Sooo what can you wear being full figured, you want to be comfortable and cute (just in case you run into someone you know :-) ).

Love this drawstring jacket, great to throw on when running errands or even if you are grabbing lunch with a friend! (Pair this jacket with a basic white tee underneath)-($159 Jackie fit drawstring jacket from Talbots)

Be trendy with the boyfriend cropped jean, great for being chic and comfortable! (Desert Wash Boyfriend Jean $79 (was$99 at Talbots) (please ignore shoes in pic not my choice )

And of course you need a flat shoe when trying to get things done...check out these cute ballet flats with the flower on top Love it! ($109 at talbots)

Just to add a little fun to your outfit...cute bead cluster ring.  ($39 at Talbots.com)
Had to add this cute little bag, when you're running errands it's so much better to have a light bag to carry but still be cute :).  Love the metallic look about this bag...very trendy! ($250 at Talbots)
So to my full figured women, embrace who you are! You can be trendy and comfortable go for something that compliments your figure.

Love the SKIN Your IN Pt2

So how is it that we can truly be happy with ourselves? I am a believer that happiness is a choice.  We must be mindful of the choices we make because we have to live with those choices.  Choose to be fly and fashionable, but not to look like someone else be your own fashionable self.  How do you do that, well start with finding things that compliment your size.  There's something for everyone...

Paint the picture you're going on a date whether with your spouse or boyfriend or girlfriend...what shall you wear to feel great? Here's what I would wear....

I love this fun, flirty dress. I love an opportunity to be cute and comfortable! This rose colored, bell sleeve dress is great for a date and it's 60's inspired <3 it ($53.79) A dress like this can be interpreted by different women in different ways just like many other things...that's why we should embrace who we are and make choices that make us happy...
This woman is Trendy, and the high maintenance type of girl.  She loves to feel tall and has a sort of effortless style about her...(MICHAEL Michael Kors 'Vienna' Sandal $194)
This woman that is edgy would go for a color like this to pair with this dress, she is a little fearless with fashion yet classy! (Bruno Magli 'Amone' Platform Sandal on sale for $249 ($425 original price)
This shoe is for the woman with the romantic style personality, she's sophisticated yet likes to be sexy and a little daring with fashion! This is the type of shoe she would wear on a date night...(Badgely Mischka 'Desire' Sandal $245)
So these are just my thoughts...I thought I'd do a little comparison of the type of shoe a certain female would go for when going out on a date...now this is definitely not set in stone but just a few thoughts. I'd like to think I am a mixture of all three examples...what can you identify with?

SPRING Forward!!

Ok so it's official we are stepping right into the season of SPRING.  Aren't you excited??? I am ELATED...why? Because as the seasons change I always get excited about the fun new things I can wear.
So, I have already began prepping you for what you will see in Spring/Summer 2011 fashion.  What about what to wear to work in the spring/summer 2011.  I have been thinking about the busy week I have ahead of me with all the meetings I have lined up.  Being as though that's on my brain, I want to look nice and professional.  What might I wear? What might you wear? Here are some ideas...

I love a pencil skirt! For the Spring/Summer 2011 choosing a neutral color like this will allow you to go in different directions with color.  (QL2 $49.99) See below...

You can have fun with your work attire and still remain professional.  Add this orange belt to one of these navy blue blouses. The navy blue blouse to the left I would pair with the skirt above and remove the bow they have and place the belt around my waist. The shirt to the right I would tuck in the high waist pencil skirt and then place on orange belt!
Statement Necklace! A necklace like this will bring together the look with all the colors...
Round toe navy blue pumps with the outfit is my shoe of choice.

It's RAINING..IT'S Pouring.

As I listen to the rain hit the ground and the winds blow, I reflect on how even in the rain you can be fashionable.  I know I know yes I always have fashion on the brain.  But, it's no fun getting your suede pumps wet or how about getting those toes wet in the rain, NOT COOL! So what to wear in the rain?

Love a cute shirt dress and in the rain I can be cute, paired with my rain boots...Of course I accessorize! You could throw on some fun tights with this dress and the boots. Thedress is $79 at Urban Outfitters. (the yellow tights can be found at Antropologie for $6.95)
When you go for a rain boot grab a nice pair that you can wear to work if you need to and go for quality. Hunter Rain Boots $250.
This is a cute, yet simple jean shirt dress. Jean is definitely all over spring/summer 2011 fashion trends. This dress can be paired with the boots above or below. You can have fun with the colors you pair with this dress. This dress is from jcrew $118.  The tights are by Nicole Miller for $16(on sale at Zappos.com)
Love the shiny and sleekness about this boot.  The color is oh so chic...sort of reminds me of the burberry rain boot collection. This rain boot is only $49.99
You should totally go for a nice boyfriend blazer to pair with these dresses, it helps to dress the outfit up a little if you're heading into work on a rainy day.  Also a nice trench coat is an essential for your spring closet and for those rainy days!

Let's Get Dressed to Go Out-Pt1

So today I was thinking why don't I include a segment each week of cute outfits to wear out for certain events or outings.  Today I want to focus on cute spring/summer 2011 outfit for going out with the girls. I personally look forward to opportunity to get out for good laughs and fun with the girls.  But whenever we meet up we like to be K A U T E, lol!
So here's the story, my girls call me up and say let's round up the girls and go out to catch up over lunch!  What should I wear? It's spring 2011 and it's 65 degrees that day, here we go....
Sparkle & Fade Knit Circle Dress $32, Simple yet so cute!
Let's pair that dress with a boyfriend blazer to be prepared for the cool air. Aqua Girls Blue Boyfriend Blazer $68

Messeca-Collbee $169 Piperlime.com
I love this color back with the colors above...this bag is Marc by Marc Jacobs $378 found at piperlime.com

Ok so my jewelry is what will definitely make this outfit! A simple dress allows you to do so much with your accessories. I love this collection from Betsy Johnson-this can be found at Macy's. Because the rest of the jewelry is so busy I decided to go with a simple gold hoop earring for this. On one arm I would do the yellow bangle with a stack of plain gold bangles, on the other arm I would do the flowery bracelet alone.

Jessica Simpson Tri-Tone Wide Cuff Bracelet $52
I would wear this on my middle finger on my right hand
Kenneth Cole NY Gold Stacked Ring $38-piperlime.com
This ring would go on my fore finger of my right hand...yes I get serious with the rings! Beetle Ring-Rachel Rachel Roy $50
